We have prepared a virtual image with an installation preconfigurada of Pentaho, that can discharge freely from the site LinuxBI.

The image works with the software of virtualización Sun VirtualBox 2.0. We have chosen Virtual Box because it is available for Linux, OS X (Mac) and Windows, and because dispone of a free edition of evaluation and personal use, and another Open Source subject to the conditions of the licence GPL. Of this way our image will be able to use freely in any surroundings, always that they respect the conditions of the licences.

Pentaho Has prepared with the version 1.7.1 A new demo online with some reports of proof for the one who want to explore interactivamente some of the analytical possibilities and of reporting of the suite.

The reports are prepared on the data of proof of the fictitious company Steel Wheels, already used by Pentaho for others give.

SUN Microsystems and Pentaho have signed an alliance in order to integrate the Pentaho reporting engine in next OpenOffice and StarOffice release. This will allow the famous office suite to offer new BI and OLAP features. It is sure that this alliance is going to be very fruitful. Pentaho is going to come to a people not so especialized in Business Intelligence, and SUN makes his suite more competitive opposite to propietary license tools.
